Les Fest

08/20/2010 - 18:30
Etc/GMT

Enjoy a weekend of fun, food, and music at Les Fest, a unique two-day event featuring an evening of live music, a 5K run and fun walk, and a free day with fun activities for the whole family.

It's the zoo's way of raising 'fun and funds' in hopes of continuing Les Whitt's grand vision for the Alexandria Zoo. Whitt was Zoo Director from 1974 until his death in August 2008. All proceeds from Les Fest will go to zoo projects.

For complete details about the event, visit the Les Fest website.

We'll see you at Les Fest!

Get ready because there's lots of after-hours fun in store when you mix exotic animals, music, spirits, food and yes, just a tad of education! Where else but the Zoo can you celebrate with tigers, crocodiles, monkeys and your human friends too!

In zoo tradition, let superb musical entertainment help your feet find their dancing groove! Have a ball while you and your friends cut loose to the rhythmic tunes of Louisiana. Check our website for upcoming details.

Furry, feathered and scaly friends will greet visitors as they make their way to the festival area. Bring your camera and prepare for some wild photo opportunities!

Misting and cooling fans will be in the entertainment area to provide some relief from the August heat. Tables and chairs will be provided, but guests can bring lawn chairs if they prefer.

Your ticket provides admission for fabulous entertainment, a barbecue chicken dinner and one drink. Soft drinks, margaritas, Coors beer, and wine will be available for purchase along with Les Fest t-shirts.

Take advantage of the first opportunity to help Pave the Way by purchasing a commemorative engraved brick for the Festival Plaza.
