Applications are currently being accepted for two summer camps sponsored by Kent House, one held in June and the other in July. June 21st through 25th will be the annual Jane in June Camp for young ladies ages 10 - 15. This camp revolves around pastimes for young ladies in the Jane Austen era. Each year the campers learn duties, games and pastimes of young ladies in the early 1800’s. Each day they will attend an authentic tea party and on the last day, they will host a tea party for their parents. Start: 9:00 am
Kent House is currently accepting applications for Camp Kent House which will be held on July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. The theme this year is "Life on a 19th Century Farm". The schedule for each Friday is as follows: July 9, 2010: Garden/Bug Day - Learn about good-bugs and bad-bugs and how honey bees helped with crops as well as provide honey for farm families. Learn about what they grew and how the farmers used their crops. Campers will actually plant seeds in the Kent House Kitchen garden as well as in a pot for a take-home project. Start: 12:00 pm
Deadline extended for 2010 Christmas Festival Poster entries NATCHITOCHES – The deadline has been extended for artists to submit a design for the 2010 Natchitoches Christmas Festival Poster. The theme for the poster is “Christmas in Natchitoches”. Artists who would like to enter the contest should submit a drawing or painting to the Natchitoches Arts Council using the chosen theme. | ||
